Ian Paskowski, DC, MBA
Dr Paskowski is Medical Director for the Spine Care Program at Beth Israel Deaconess-Plymouth Hospital. Reporting to Vice President Medical Affairs and Clinical Reliability his responsibilities include research, development and hospital wide implementation of an evidence based care pathway leading to improved patient care, patient satisfaction and efficient resource utilization in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of spine pain patients. Responsible for facilitating communication among primary stake holders including occupational health, physical medicine and rehabilitation, rheumatology, interventional pain management, neurosurgery, radiology, physical therapy / rehabilitation and chiropractic. Responsible for development of quantitative quality control measures ensuring “Value Added” healthcare for public and physician community
John M Ventura, DC, DABCO
Dr Ventura has over 30 years of clinical practice experience, with 22 years as the owner of a multidoctor practice that was among the first in the nation to achieve recognition status in the National Committee for Quality Improvement back pain recognition program for physicians.
For 16 years he served as clinical instructor in the department of family medicine at University of Rochester School of Medicine and as an associate clinical professor at New York Chiropractic College. He also taught an online course in evidence based practice for D’Youville College of Chiropractic.
He currently serves on the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services technical expert panel, on the board of the United States Bone and Joint Initiative and is on the musculoskeletal committee of the National Quality Forum. He sits on the committee for quality assurance and accountability of the American Chiropractic Association .
Brian D Justice, DC
Brian D. Justice, DC, is a medical director for Excellus BlueCross BlueShield’s Pathway Development and Spine Programs. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from The State University of New York at Brockport, Dr. Justice attended graduate school at National Chiropractic College in Chicago, IL. He then spent 28 years in a spine-focused chiropractic practice in a variety of private, industry and hospital settings. Dr. Justice has published articles in peer review journals, served on national health care guideline development committees and presented nationally on value driven health care, quality improvement, pathway development, optimal interdisciplinary spine care, wellness and holistic health. He has recently presented at the BlueCross BlueShield National Summit a nd Stanford Medicine X. He has been an executive wellness coach for clients such as Wegmans Food Markets and the Rochester City School District. Dr. Justice was also honored with the Rochester 2015 Health Care Innovation Award.
Thomas J. Neuner, DC, JD
Dr. Neuner is administrator of Michigan Spine and Joint Center, an integrated group of spine care specialists providing services which include chiropractic, physiatry, interventional pain management and physical therapy. Dr. Neuner is also an allied chiropractic physician with Michigan Head and Spine Institute, one of our nation’s largest neurosurgical groups.
He has been in practice as a chiropractic physician since 1984 and has a keen interest in the integration and coordination of varied health care practitioners in the field of spine care continuum.
In addition to duties as a full time clinician, Dr. Neuner holds a J.D. degree from Detroit College of Law, Michigan State University and is a licensed attorney admitted to the Michigan Bar. He is a member of the Michigan Health Lawyers Association and American Bar Association.
Donald R Murphy, DC, FRCC
Dr. Murphy is a chiropractic physician and primary spine practitioner with over 30 years of clinical practice experience. He currently serves as Medical Director of the Spine Care Program for Care New England, a multi-hospital healthcare system in Rhode Island. There he oversees an integrated, interdisciplinary spine care pathway that focuses on primary spine care.

Dr. Murphy is also Clinical Assistant Professor at the Alpert Medical School of Brown University, Adjunct Professor at Southern California University of Health Sciences and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Research at New York Chiropractic College. He lectures throughout the world on various topics related to primary spine care and is the lead instructor for the Primary Spine Practitioner certification course offered by the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Murphy has published dozens of articles in numerous peer-reviewed scientific journals as well as several books and book chapters. His newest two-volume book, Clinical Reasoning in Spine Pain Vols I and II are widely utilized by chiropractic schools and field practitioners throughout the world and is the required text for the Primary Spine Practitioner certification course. Morris Levene has a career in health care that is noted for both innovation and management ability. He served as Senior Vice President for Excellus BC/BS for many years, overseeing projects involving pharmacy, operations, medical management, claims and a long term care insurance program. He and a medical physician recently founded Health Care Industry Advisors, a consulting group to assist clients in navigating through the complexities of the current health care environment.
Some of his major achievements at Excellus include developing and implementation one of the nations first hospital cost containment programs. He implanted a three tier pharmacy program, considered controversial program at that time that was highly successful. He also lead cost containment innovation by using strategic communication programs and provider relation avenues to successfully convince the provider community that a split tablet program is an acceptable cost containment methodology.
He then developed, implemented and managed a Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plan performance measurement program, which through his efforts became the National Blue Cross and Blue Shield Performance Standards Program, which is still in existence. By the use of sophisticated statistical marketing research analysis and survey techniques, he contributed to the marketing effectiveness of the Plans by identifying brand weaknesses and strengths and how consumers by demographic segment would react to specific insurance plans.
David Peyton, DC
David graduated from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa with a Masters degree in chiropractic. During his student years, he sat on the executive committee of the World Congress of Chiropractic Students (WCCS), and served as an assistant clinician in the university health clinic.
He completed his Masters research dissertation on lower back pain and was invited to join the Golden Key International Honour Society. He has been involved in the lecturing & moderating staff at the University of Johannesburg, teaching clinical subjects to 4th & 5th year chiropractic students.
David has been in private practice for 6 years, and directs a 3-member team of 2 chiropractors & a physiotherapist. David has well-developed skills in the field of Information Technology, and was involved in ad-hoc & formal capacities as a business & website developer since the age of 14. He is married to Erika & has 2 children, Abigail & Daniel.
James Sklar-Chik, DC
Dr James Sklar-Chik obtained his masters degree from the University of Johannesburg, South Africa after returning from preliminary studies at Palmer Chiropractic College, USA. His masters dissertation focused on immunology, training and pain in professional athletes.
Dr Sklar-Chik began his passion for health and sport as a professional rugby player with the Sharks and Golden Lions between 2006-2008 . His professional rugby career was cut short by 3 knee injuries between 2009-2011. This allowed him to find a new passion for people, their pain and spinal health.
Dr Sklar-Chik was director of a SME import and medical supplies company from 2012-2014.
He served for several years as a team member at Life Hospital in Johannesburg, South Africa. Interactions in the private hospital sector allowed him to deal daily with surgeons, radiology and ancillary therapy which broadened his understanding of all available offerings in spine care. He further managed 3000+ employees in a large on-site clinic at a private insurer in Johannesburg.

Kanwal Sood, DC
Kanwal is a Chiropractor with a special interest in integrated primary spine care and value-based healthcare.
He completed his Masters research on the effect of thoracic and lumbar spine manipulation on bowling speed in action cricket fast bowlers. An initial interest in sports chiropractic was complemented by a role as team doctor for Jaguars club rugby team from 2008-2011.
Having graduated from the Durban University of Technology (D.U.T) in 2008, he has been in private practice at a multidisciplinary medical center ever since. Dr Sood is also a part- time Clinician supervising 5th and 6th year interns at D.U.T’s Chiropractic day clinic.
Time spent time at World Spine Care’s flagship clinics in Botswana in 2014 piqued his interest in primary spine care. He enjoys collaborating with like-minded professionals and has recently partnered up in practice with one of his mentors.
